COACHES CORNER

The Danvers High School Hockey Team is excited for the 2011-2012 season. The Falcons are looking forward to an exciting season in the Northeastern conference. The returning players have worked hard both on and off the ice in the off-season and the coaching staff is excited to coach a program with such great tradition and community pride. Our 2011-2012 coaching staff will pride itself on producing good student athletes both on and off the ice and look forward to working with the players.

The team returns a balanced roster of 15 players for the 11-12 season. Senior forward captain JD Hodgkins provides leadership as a student/athlete and great skating skills to boost the Falcons. Senior defensemen captain Nick Strangie is a talented blue liner bringing an offensive scoring touch, solid defensive zone coverage, and a threat on special teams. Junior forward captain Joe Strangie will be a physical scoring centerman for the Falcons. Senior’s Peter Marshall, Paul D’Orlando Jack Doyle, Zach Ingraham, Seth Kamens, and Steve Wilkinson will provided additional leadership for the Falcons.

Providing assistants to the team this year will be head assistant Kevin McNeill, who will coach the defense and special teams. Ryan Hayes will lead our Junior Varsity program. Coach Paul Nemeskal will be helping with our forwards. Former Falcon’s standouts Steve Baldassare, and CJ Sullivan will take pride in giving back to the Falcon program. The coaches will provide the structure and discipline a student athlete needs to be successful.

As the coach for Danvers High School, I look forward to working with the players, coaches, administrators, and student body. I would like to thank the Danvers community for their continued support and hope to see you at the rink.
